- Routes typically designate a single pathway from one signal to another, though they do have other uses such as Slots. If there is more than one pathway between the same pair of signals then a Route object is created for each one. Similarly, for different classes of route (Main, Warner, Call-on etc), again one Route object is created for each. A route has a number of sections that are used for processing different parts of the signalling logic. This object-oriented approach vastly simplifies the data preparation required, while allowing great flexibility. Automatic signals also require a Route object defined, though the data required is less. Each of the sections is described in the following sections.
